Blizzard Walk

In early March the winter seemed like it might be relinquishing
it’s grip on the bitter cold of the past four months. I had gone
to bed thinking that the warmer air might mean early spring!
When I awoke, I found the sky had bequeathed not warm air at
all… but snowflakes! What had started off as a flurry turned to
a steady shower of white. I took my camera with me on a morning
jog around the lake and found that the snow continued to
thicken. Whilst I began a slow walk across the dam of Packanack
Lake, I paused to compose a scenic scene that would include the
snow as part of the landscape. As I worked on the composition,
I sensed a person approaching from my right. As I turned, I
came face to face with a stranger who was intent on crossing the
dam without pausing. I swung around, re-composed my position
and settings, and managed one exposure of this black dressed
individual as they proceeded away into the strengthening storm.
