On a very special day I found myself at a very special lighthouse. The
winter fog was thick during the day because of warm weather clashing with a
cold front. Hence, the beaches around Cape May Point where the Cape May
Light continually shines was still reeling in a thick wonderful fog from the
day. As the night was approaching, I was forced to leave my warm room and
drawn out to the point to view the light in the dusk of the day. As I
observed the light, I was drawn in a wonderful passion that was around me to
view the swirling lighthouse beacon at a close-up angle… an angle that
brought into play the wonderful crescent moon. I have a few images of the
lighthouse beam peering out into the night, but this one exposure preserves
the moment when the man-made light cast a spell to The January moon. Eerie,
yet wonderful, this early evening lighthouse image could be any lighthouse
in the world, but this one evening at Cape May, I preserved an evening that
I shall not forget till I’m floating with the moon myself in the sky, and
enjoying the sight of this wonderful lighthouse from the stars above where
the beam continues to travel.
