This is a black and white study of a magnificent sculpture I found not near a church, cemetery or any religious edifice.  I came upon the Angel on a jaunt through the horse country of Maryland in search of a pair of wonderful yellow Labrador retrievers.  When I found the dogs in their habitat, I also found the Angel sitting near their dog run in the grass.  I was awestruck by the feeling and immediately saw a black and white image come to mind.  I find peace, sadness and energy from this photograph, a photograph that reaches into the heart.  The long, luxurious arm of the Angel seems to transcend the photograph into the heart of the viewer.  It was an overcast afternoon and the image reeks of the softness of the light and subject.
